To make all this short, the Gay community has a lot to acknowldge those that came before. When a few friends and I went into his apartment after his death, we found under his Bible his memorial that he had already typed (and typed rather badly as was common for him) and stated I had written it.

Sure he didn't always go about it in the right way, but now looking back after all these years, I understand him maybe more than I did then. He loved the elderly and he hated injustice. Working for years with Ray, I leaned he was a deeply troubled person (aren't we all is some way?) and also a very deep and caring person. Mater-of-fact I do believe I was the only woman that I was aware of that he confided in. Well, at least as close as he would let most people, especially a woman. For as long as we live, they too will live, for they are now a part of us as, We remember them. When we have achievements that are based on theirs We remember them. When we have joy we crave to share We remember them. When we have decisions that are difficult to make We remember them. When we are lost and sick at heart We remember them. When we are weary and in need of strength We remember them. As long as we live, they too will live, for they are now a part of us as We remember them. At the beginning of the year and when it ends We remember them.

At the rustling of the leaves and in the beauty of the autumn We remember them.

At the blueness of the skies and in the warmth of summer We remember them. At the opening of the buds and in the rebirth of spring We remember them. At the blowing of the wind and in the chill of winter We remember them. We Remember Them by Sylvan Kamens & Rabbi Jack Riemer At the rising sun and at its going down We remember them.
